List your church

Church Map lists churches across the United Kingdom. Adding yours, or taking over a listing we already hold, is free.

Is your church already here?

Most churches in the UK already have a page, built from public records. Taking one over is quicker than starting again, and it keeps everything already attached to it.

Add your church

Church Map lists churches in the United Kingdom. The fields marked with a star are the ones an editor needs before the page can go on the map - a description, the address with its postcode, the pin on the building, and a way for people to get in touch. Everything else can be added once the page is yours.

The main description shown on the church page. Kept in sync with the post content so site search finds it.

One denomination. If yours is genuinely two things, pick the closest and say the rest in the description.

The city page this church appears on. Pick the nearest listed city; the exact town goes in the address.

The part of the city, where we list one. Leave empty if none fits.

Street and postcode as shown on the page, e.g. "St Paul's Churchyard, EC4M 8AD".

Search the address, then drag the pin to the exact entrance. The pin position is what appears on the map, not the typed address.

Double click to add Marker. Tap and hold to add Marker. Drag Marker to move.

Name with title, e.g. "Revd Simon Woodman".

One row per day. Times as free text, e.g. "8am, 10.15am, 3.15pm".

Step-free route, accessible toilets, hearing loop, assistance dogs - written for a visitor.

Tick everything that is actually there. People plan visits around these.

Languages services are held in, not languages someone on the door happens to speak.

So we can place it in the right city pages.

About you

The page becomes yours to manage once an editor has checked it, so we need to know who you are.

We send a confirmation link here, and this becomes your sign-in.

We use these details to check the submission and to reach you about this listing. See our privacy notice and terms.

What a listing gives you

A page of your own with your address on the map, your service times, your contact details and your photos. Your church appears in searches by city and by denomination, and on the map people use to find somewhere to worship near them.

You can also publish your events and your news. They show on your page, in the city they belong to, and in the site-wide listings.

How it works

  1. Find your church Search the map first. Most churches in the UK are already listed, built from public records, and taking one over is quicker than starting again.
  2. Claim it, or add it If it is there, claim it. If it is not, send us the details and we will create the page.
  3. We check that it is you We verify by email at your church domain where we can, and by hand where we cannot.
  4. Keep it current Sign in whenever something changes. Corrections to your own page go live immediately.

Questions people ask first

How much does it cost?

Nothing. There is no paid tier. The site is funded by donations, and a church is never asked to pay to be listed or to be found.

How much can I publish?

A free account covers one church, two events and five news posts. If that becomes the thing standing between you and the people looking for you, write to us.

Who can claim a church page?

Someone who speaks for the church: clergy, a warden, a trustee, an administrator. We check before handing over a page.

What if the information about my church is wrong?

Tell us and we will fix it, whether or not you want to claim the page. Accuracy matters more to us than sign-ups.

Can I remove my church from the directory?

Yes. Ask and we remove the listing.

Not on the map yet?

The search at the top finds it if we hold it - and if we do not, the add form opens right here.
